How Does it work??
First of all, I find it essential to schedule a consultation (via Skype or in person) with each client prior to the event, both about the logistics of my set up and the content of their painting.
During this consultation we will discuss things like colour scheme, a specific moment you want to focus on, or a guest/detail you want to make sure is on the canvas. Everyone has different preferences about who and what they want captured, and it its always helpful to know this ahead of time. Make sure to tell me what’s important to you and you’ll end up with a painting you love! We don’t even have to paint the event itself! The subject matter is completely up to you, from wildlife to abstract I will give almost anything a go!
On the day of the event, I arrive 1 - 2 hours ahead of schedule in order to set up, get settled and start roughing out the framework of the painting. The majority of the piece is completed at the event, in your location of choice (ceremony, reception hall, etc). Curious guests are welcome to visit with me anytime; I love participating in the conversations that develop around my easel!
When the event is over, the painting will return to my studio, where I will take an additional 1 - 2 weeks to add the finishing touches (the details are my favorite part) and fill any potential framing/ print order requests. The finished painting is then delivered/ shipped to you, a memory to enjoy for many years to come or otherwise auctioned, raffled of gifted to an important member of your organization!
